MRE Cook-Off
What and why?!?
Diesel Dee and Steady Steve from KZSM Veteran Hour brainstormed with our Commander to figure out a way to build community engagement with local San Martians and our Veterans. Food seems to be the universal theme, no matter how it starts out, so a cook-off was what came out of this.
24 April 2021 – Check-In Starts at 1000
There will be a brief demonstration of the traditional way of preparing an MRE.
Teams will receive one random MRE package from the selection (you might want to find out what you are dealing with)
Teams will have 45 minutes to prepare and plate their offerings
There are 3 Judges from the local community, so one small serving plate for each judge (think Chopped)
Kids are welcome to attend, must be supervised.
Objective: Turn a standard issue meal ready to eat into an edible delight
Enlist Today: Teams of 2, must have at least 1 Veteran

3 utensils can be brought by the team
